Exposure Basketball in Florida
A step-by-step guide for AAU players and parents on how to use Florida tournaments — and a Kruda recruiting profile — to get real looks from college coaches.
Why Florida is a top exposure state
Florida hosts one of the deepest AAU basketball circuits in the country. Between spring live periods, summer viewing windows, and fall showcases, college coaches from D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO make repeat trips to gyms across Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, and the Panhandle. Playing a smart in-state schedule can cut travel cost and still put you in front of dozens of programs.
Step 1 — Pick the right events
Not every tournament is a recruiting event. Look for the NCAA live periods, sanctioned certified events, and showcases that publicly list attending coaches. Florida Flight Elite events are built around those windows.
Browse the current tournament schedule and filter by month or city to line your season up around live periods.
Step 2 — Build a Kruda recruiting profile
Coaches don't recruit players they can't find. Every FFE athlete gets a free profile on Kruda — highlight film, transcripts, measurables, coach contacts, and stats in one link you can share with any program.
Complete the basics before your next event: name, grad year, position, height, GPA, primary coach contact, and one recent highlight clip.
Step 3 — Play in front of the right eyes
- Enter the earliest game slot the first day — coaches are freshest and full pools are running.
- Wear a clear jersey number. Coaches take notes by number, not by name.
- Have a parent film every game in landscape. Two-minute highlight clips per event beat one long season reel.
Step 4 — Follow up the same week
After each tournament, email schools that watched (or that you want to watch) with: your Kruda profile link, jersey number, team name, and one clip from the weekend. A short, specific note out-performs a generic mass email every time.
Step 5 — Track and repeat
Log which schools attended, which reached out, and what stats you posted. Rankings on our FFE rankings page update through the season — climbing tiers is a signal to coaches that you're trending up.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Playing too many out-of-state events and skipping in-state live periods.
- Sharing a YouTube dump instead of a Kruda profile.
- Waiting for coaches to find you. Recruiting is a two-way street — you initiate.
